There are items that we have offered for the third or fourth time. Not always, but usually it involves lots, which we have fascinated ourselves and which we love so much that we find it difficult to sell.
The strip of three illustrated above, comes under this category. It comes from the stone C2RU (types 30-32), so from the last printing stone of the light blue Rayons. We've got this item probably now for the third time. When it was offered the last time some years ago, it was like love at first sight!
You are reminded of the French saying: "You always return to your first love”. You cannot sell such a piece to "everybody". We always try to find a collector, who appreciates such piece as much as we do. This requires a collector with a distinct aesthetic sense, a love for the beauty of a piece. It would be nice if such a collector could be found. I'm in the business for about 50 years and God knows, always tried to acquire nice pieces and also beautiful units. Also such strips of the light blue rayon. Strange, I would have difficulty to name another strip of three, which would have given me such joy!
Yet: I have to understand those, who shake their head when they compare the catalogue value for this lot and its selling price! To all those, probably the majority of collectors! -I say, that we have a variety of units (pairs, strips of three or four, yes, even blocks of four) in stock, which cost only a fraction of the above lot. Do not hesitate to ask for such alternative pieces, and believe me: we prefer to sell the much cheaper pieces than the title picture above!
