from 18 - 22 May 2022
Senior philatelists may still remember the Internaba 1974 in Basel. So it has now taken almost 50 years for Switzerland to once again be privileged to organise a philatelic world exhibition. The very active Philatelic Club of Lugano has assembled a competent team to organise the event. For everyone, traders and collectors alike, it will be an event we all want to mark in red in next year's calendar! It is possible, or even probable, that many of us will never again experience a Philatelic World Exhibition in Switzerland.
There is also an anniversary to celebrate: in 1862, 160 years ago, the first values of the white paper seated perforated Helvetia appeared. The red 30 stamp was chosen as the logo for the exhibition.
Remember that Lugano is considered by many visitors to be one of the most beautiful cities not only in Switzerland, but in the world, and it is important to reserve your accommodation very soon! A visit on one day only would be possible with the new Gotthard Tunnel, but a pity for this very important exhibition. I don't know when there will ever be such a wealth of top- class objects to gaze at in Switzerland again. You should take your time to study them. Not to mention the numerous dealer stands, which every active collector will surely want to consult. We will have a comprehensive number of Old Switzerland lots from our delivery area with us. However, if you are an exhibitor yourself and would still like to include the pieces for your collection, please let us know your wishes well in advance. And should you not find what you are looking for in our Old Switzerland Catalogue 2022, which will be published in January 2022, please remember that we only ever offer a small part of the stock in the catalogue. In most cases, we have additional numbers in stock for special customers, which we will be happy to offer you or take to the exhibition.
We wish you carefree days in Lugano and hope that by then all corona-related restrictions on contact will have been lifted and no new ones will be in force!
